We are investing in the People who keep our sport running. Behind every cross-country start box, every show jumping bell, and every dressage salute is a team of trained officials — judges, stewards, technical advisors, scorers, and more — who ensure that British Eventing runs safely, fairly, and to the highest possible standards.
Without them, there is no eventing.
David Howden
Our Mission
The BETF holds training and education throughout the country for riders, coaches, officials and the 10,000 vital volunteers who help to run the sport of eventing.
Provide Training Opportunities
The BETF provides inclusive, enjoyable and innovative training opportunities.
Promote participation
Our training grows the number of people benefiting from the sport of eventing.
Promote welfare
Our training educates and informs those who participate in eventing in how to ensure the welfare of all horses participating in eventing.
Promote safety
We will fund research and invest in training and development that promotes a safer sport for humans and horses.
Inspire continuous improvement
Training and development that leads to continuous improvement. This does not exclusively mean progression “up” the levels.
Ensure a sustainable and thriving community
Ensure the future of the sport for young people participating in eventing today and tomorrow
BETF Projects
BE MEMBER TRAINING
The BETF has appointed eight lead coaches responsible for delivering training to riders of all levels and abilities, ensuring access to high-quality coaching.
BE COACH DEVELOPMENT

VOLUNTEERS & OFFICIALS PROJECTS
BETF shall continue to operate education and training projects for officials and volunteers including volunteer training with BE Technical Advisors.
