KATIE WILLIAMS

Lead Coach, International Development Experiences (UKCC Level 4 Eventing)
Katie is one of the UK’s most highly qualified eventing coaches, holding UKCC Level 4 accreditation. She leads British Eventing’s International Development Experiences programme, supporting riders as they learn to compete abroad. Her coaching blends technical expertise, evidence-based training and a positive, athlete-centred approach.

JO RIMMER

South West Regional Lead Coach

Jo Rimmer UKCCL3 is a former schoolteacher who has always had a passion for producing horses and coaching riders. 

She competed at 5* level and represented GB in a Nations Cup team. She has been involved in eventing for many years as a competitor, mother and coach. Her daughter Jess is currently competing at 4* level. She loves developing partnerships between horses and riders, the thrill of the sport and the community spirit within it.

WILL MURRAY

North Regional Lead Coach

A dedicated coach with deep practical experience, Will helps riders develop effective training habits and a clear understanding of the skills needed for each phase. His approach is supportive, structured, and centred on helping combinations progress with confidence.

East Midlands Regional Lead Coach

Phil brings a wealth of coaching knowledge from grassroots to advanced level. Known for his calm, encouraging style, he helps riders improve accuracy, decision-making and partnership, ensuring training remains positive, progressive and welfare-led.

EMILY LOCHORE

East Regional Lead Coach

Emily Lochore is a highly respected international event rider and coach, with experience up to 5* level including Badminton and Burghley. A former Great Britain Junior and Young Rider team member, she won Team Gold and was long-listed for the Atlanta Olympics following a 12th place at Burghley and Best U25 honours. Now specialising in coaching, Emily works with riders at all levels, drawing on decades of elite competition and world-class training experience. Emily holds UKCC (BE) Level 3 Coaching and BHSAI qualifications, and is passionate about developing riders and nurturing their love of eventing.

CAMILLA KRUGER

South East Regional Lead Coach

Having competed at top level for many years and represented Zimbabwe at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, I am well positioned to share my knowledge and experiences within my coaching. I am currently the GB Pony Chef d’equipe and work closely alongside Nicola Wilson.

I bring a calm, compassionate and horse-centred approach to coaching, creating a positive environment where both horse and rider can grow in confidence, connection and understanding together.

JONQUIL HEMMING

Wales & West Midlands Regional Lead Coach
Jonquil Hemming is an experienced UKCC L4 /BHS Stage 5 qualified coach and is renowned for her success as a youth specialist having coached the British Pony Team for 25 years. 

She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience , has a rider centred approach to training and a keen eye for detail. I am keen to help riders to become more self confident , to be independent thinkers and most importantly to develop a confident and happy partnership.

RICHARD JOHNSTON-SMITH

Scotland Regional Lead Coach

Richard is the British Eventing Lead Coach for Scotland, with over 20 years’ experience coaching riders and equine partnerships from leisure level to national competition. He has supported riders through coaching assessments up to BHSI (Stage 5) and Pony Club A Test.


An all-round eventing coach, Richard combines evidence-based equine learning with classical training principles across dressage, show jumping and cross country. Known for his open-minded, problem-solving approach, he is passionate about developing confident, progressive partnerships in both private and group sessions.
