BE Prepared Camps offer riders a friendly, supportive and expertly guided way to build skills, confidence and connection. Held at four regional venues, each two-day camp blends mounted coaching with practical workshops, demonstrations and Q&A sessions delivered by our Regional Lead Coaches and specialist contributors. Whether you’re preparing for your first BE80, returning to the sport, or looking for structured pre-season training, the camps provide clear, welfare-led guidance for both horse and rider. Open to members and non-members over 18, they’re a brilliant opportunity to learn, practise and enjoy eventing as part of a like-minded community.

Marie Ryan
Marie is a British Eventing Level 3 Coach and Level 4 UKCC Coach, BHS Stage 5 Performance Coach, MSc in Professional practice in sports coaching and a former international 5* rider. Marie is passionate about supporting and encouraging each individual horse and rider to achieve their best irrespective of which discipline, level or age.
She is a Centre 10 Advanced Coach has co-delivered coach education programmes, co-presented motivational discussions and forums together with presenting and riding in lecture demonstrations.
Marie has mentored and coached riders who have been selected for GB Pony and YR teams and also Badminton Grassroots and 5* riders. Marie also provides commentary for Badminton and Horse & Country TV.
Will Murray
Will is a British Eventing Level 3 coach and currently serves as the Lead Regional Coach for the North, where he plays a key role in developing riders across all levels of the

Alongside his coaching career, Will brings a wealth of practical experience from his own long and successful competition history, having competed up to 4* level himself. This firsthand knowledge allows him to offer insightful, relevant guidance tailored to the demands of modern eventing.
Will was part of the highly successful North and Scotland BE Prepared Camp in the spring, where his enthusiasm and expertise made a strong impact on participating riders. He is now looking forward to delivering another inspiring and engaging camp, helping enthusiastic riders build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve their goals in a supportive and motivating environment.
Nikki Herbert
Nikki is a BHSI and Level 3 coach specialising in Dressage. Based in the UK in East Northamptonshire, Nikki loves to travel and has been fortunate to coach and judge in Europe, America, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. To date highlights have been judging the Pony European Championships twice, the Junior European Championships in Montelibretti, the CCI5* in Luhmuhlen and twice in Pau, the 6yr old Championship at Le Lion d’Angers, the CCIO4*-NC-S in Harras du Pin and several times Bramham and Blenheim CCI4*S&L. She has recently returned from judging, as President of the Ground Jury, the CCI5*-L, CCI4*-S and CCI3*-L in Adelaide.
Although Nikki still enjoys training her own horses, she is passionate about coaching riders of all levels to perform to the best of their ability, recently helping the European Pony Eventing Team riders and also developing future coaches for both dressage and eventing.

BE Prepared is delivered by the British Eventing Training Foundation and led by our team of eight Regional Lead Coaches, supported by Katie Williams and a wider network of equine professionals. Together, they bring world-class expertise, practical coaching insight, and a shared commitment to welfare, development and performance.

CAMP SCHEDULE
A typical BE Prepared Camp runs over two full days and includes a mix of mounted sessions, workshops and practical demonstrations. Riders usually take part in one dressage or flatwork session, one showjumping session and one cross-country-focused lesson (venue dependent). Workshops may cover topics such as rider mindset, fitness routines, saddle fitting, tack checks, season planning and horse welfare. There’s time for discussion, socialising and questions throughout, creating a relaxed, supportive environment where every rider can learn at their own pace.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to be a BE member to attend?
No — camps are open to both members and non-members.
What level are the camps aimed at?
Riders from BE80 to Novice level, or those returning to the sport, will benefit most.
Do I need a fit horse?
Your horse should be comfortable to walk/trot/canter in open spaces and able to work for two short sessions per day.
Is stabling available??
Most venues offer onsite or nearby stabling. Details will be provided at booking.
What should I bring?
Usual riding kit, horse essentials, waterproofs, notepad, and any specific equipment listed in your camp confirmation email.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellation terms vary by venue and will be shown during the booking process.
